Two views of the same piece of drill core show bornite blebs (~1mm dia) in hydrothermal breccia appear as black grains under polarized light (left) and purple tinted under plain light (right). Vertical DDH AZ10-104 at 241.5 m. Bornite (~1mm dia) in hydrothermal breccia. This zone also contains extremely fine grained bornite (0.1mm or smaller) "dustings" in epidote altered sections.
